- After looking at the introductions this week I decided I needed to go over what your introduction should look like one more time.
- Your introduction should introduce:
- What you are going to talk about.
- Why are you going to write about it?
- Why is your topic important?
- Include a clear concise thesis.
- The thesis statement needs to explain clearly and concisely what you are writing about in your paper. The rest of your paper should be focused on proving and supporting the thesis statement.
- Look at the Purdue OWL website's example MLA research paper if you need help.
- I also noticed that the people that were moving on in the paper and some of you that had facts and quotes in your introduction were not citing properly. We have had several lessons on this. If you need help go to the Purdue OWL website first.
