Today we read "The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson. Many of you have already read this story. That is okay because the most important part of this assignment is not the reading of the story but the writing that you must do after reading or re-reading the story. You need to pick one of the two essay questions to respond to. Please remember that this is an essay response. You will be graded on the content of your essay, grammar, mechanics, and the proper formatting of a formal paper.

Everybody got to listen to me talk to you about finishing the school year, making sure you get your work done, and passing all of your classes. The number of school days you have left in school are in the teens. You are almost done with high school. Make sure you finish!
I met with each student individually to talk about missing assignments and your grades in all of your classes. Students then worked on anything they were missing. If you were not here you can come and see me about missing work.
