- Today we worked on finishing our outline for the paper. Remember your outline should be organized and detailed. It should be like a map of what and how you are going to write.
- You may find it beneficial to write your thesis statement before you complete your outline. The thesis statement is exactly what you are writing about. What are you trying to prove?
- Check out the Purdue OWL website for information and examples of thesis statements.
- Your outline is due at the end of the day Tuesday, January 28th.
Thursday & Friday, January 23rd & 24th, 2014

- I demonstrated how to set up and use Google Docs. Each student had to have an account set up with a new document set up for keeping their research. Here is my example of how to keep notes: Senior Research Notes
- Each student discussed with me their topics and we made sure they were focused enough to start researching.
- While I met with each student they finished up their MLA Formatting Practice Handout.
- The MLA handout is due Monday.
- We will begin researching in the library next Monday the 13th.

We had a substitute today.
We started working on the MLA Worksheet Practice in class. Use the Purdue Online Writing Lab to find answers and how to complete the works cited page for the sources given. Make you works cited page on a separate sheet of paper.
